Berkeley Space Center
Berkeley Space Center is an innovation ecosystem created by UC Berkeley and SKS Partners, in collaboration with NASA, to enable academia, private industry and government to come together to identify, incubate and launch tomorrow’s breakthroughs. It would comprise the 36-acre real estate development, Berkeley Space Center at NASA Research Park, and UC Berkeley's academic and research initiatives for Berkeley Space Center.
Berkeley Space Center at NASA Research Park is a proposed 36-acre innovation center and hub where academia, private industry and government come together to identify, incubate and launch tomorrow’s technological breakthroughs
Located at Moffett Field in the NASA Research Park, the site is situated among global technology and innovation leaders, including NASA, Google, Microsoft and Silicon Valley’s top research and educational institutions. This proposed development, next to Hangar 1 and Shenandoah Plaza, would ultimately include up to 2.3 million square feet of new ground-up construction, including a Conference Center, Amenity & Retail, Office/R&D/Academic, and Residential Spaces. Designed for sustainability and a low-carbon future, pedestrian and bicycle access would be prioritized to provide easy car-free access throughout the site.
Industry leaders across the private sector and academia will find themselves side-by-side with researchers at the adjacent NASA Ames Research Center, the nexus for world-changing aerospace advancements for more than 8 decades.
